BIOGRAPHY

Born in Tirana in 1969, Adrian Çene studied at the Artistic High School before entering the Academy of Arts in Tirana, where he graduated in painting in 1992. From the 1990s onward, his work began to reach beyond Albania, gradually becoming part of an international artistic career.

Over the years, he has held several solo exhibitions, notably in Paris, at the National Gallery of Art in Tirana, in Naples, Florida, and, more recently, at the Maison de l’Albanie in Paris in 2024. His work has also been featured in numerous group exhibitions and art fairs across Europe, the United States, and Australia.

​

Remaining committed to oil painting, Adrian Çene has developed an immediately recognizable visual language, grounded in the power of color, the density of the painted surface, and the intensity of gesture. Landscapes, seascapes, and portraits form the principal fields of a practice in which the physical presence of paint remains central.
