GALERIE BRUME
ABOUT

Galerie Brume represents artists who each develop a distinct system in which material is not simply one medium among others, but the very principle from which the work emerges.
We are drawn to practices where material does not illustrate an idea. Instead, it determines the work's structure, logic and visual language.
Each artist redefines the status of their chosen material. It ceases to function as a support or a tool and acquires a new role: it becomes the condition that makes the work possible.
The materials vary. So do the systems.
What unites them is something deeper: a shared commitment to developing a visual language that is inseparable from the material that gives rise to it.
Galerie Brume is committed to supporting these practices over time, convinced that the most enduring works are those that do not simply invent an aesthetic, but a new relationship between material and artistic language.
Before founding Galerie Brume, Alban worked with galleries in France and abroad, and collaborated on exhibition projects with institutions including the French Ministry of Culture and the Institut du Monde Arabe.
These experiences exposed him to a wide range of artistic practices, but above all they shaped the way he looks at art.
Over time, one conviction became clear: the most compelling works are not defined by technical virtuosity or visual effect, but by the coherence of a system in which material becomes inseparable from the artist's language.
Galerie Brume grew out of that conviction.
The gallery deliberately represents a limited number of artists, fostering long-term relationships built on trust, curatorial commitment and sustained dialogue.
