LOUISE MACHON
Sculpting impermanence in the silence of the fold.
BIOGRAPHY
Initially trained at the Beaux-Arts, Louise Machon joined an international fashion design school in Paris in 2016. She learned rare techniques—bobbin lace, featherwork, and embroidery—before joining the last major Parisian artisanal pleating workshop. For four years, she crafted exceptional pieces for the greatest couture and interior design houses. This immersion endowed her with a keen mastery of materials, rigor, and gesture, as well as a sharp sense of composition. Her practice then shifted toward personal research, somewhere between sculpture and installation. She explores the mechanisms of life through folds, creases, and moving structures. Her works, close to artifacts and memories, seek to capture the moment before it disappears.
